New 2MDX03 thermoelectric coolers are the smallest 2-stage TECs among 2MDX solutions.  All 2MDX TECs are based on HD technology and have the revised commutation between pellets on TEC second stage.  The mix of serial and parallel commutation allows to increase the number of pellets on top stage and enlarge TEC cold side.  The optimal stage coefficient is achieved by pellets height adjustment.  Such method allows to enlarge TEC cold side, increase the mechanical endurance of TEC and keep the optimal cooling performance without power consumption increasing.  2MDX TE coolers are optimal for various sensing applications where 2-stage TEC cooling performance and large cold side are required.  2MDX03 TECs are assembled using RoHS compliant Sn-Sb solder (Tmelt=230ºC) and meet Telcordia GR-486 standard requirements.  The examples of the most common 2MDX03  thermoelectric types are listed in the table below.  Detailed TEC drawings, 3D models, performance plots and estimations for particular application conditions are provided by request.

The key feature of all 2MDX thermoelectric coolers is their shape. These 2-stage TECs all have the same dimensions of cold and hot sides. There is no typical pyramidal shape here, like many standard multistage TECs have.  All 2MDX TECs have the equal size of the hot, cold and the middle plate in between, which makes these TECs look quite like a cube. Such shape allows combining these TECs into stack configurations, with multiple thermoelectric coolers connected in serial or parallel and even in a mixed serial-parallel way. With 2MDX TECs you may create any required cold side surface area for large objects and get all the benefits of 2-stage thermoelectric cooler performance.  On entry-level 2MDX TECs can be ordered separately for stack assembly later by customer. Or if required the configuration of TEC stack can be specified and ordered with all thermoelectric coolers already connected.  On the master-level TEC stack can be manufactured upon request on a single union hot side ceramics plate (can be a subject of customization).
